Individual Retirement Accounts

TRADITIONAL IRA
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) are tax deferred interest-bearing accounts available to anyone with earned income to set aside for retirement.*  The plan is on an 18 month maturity and can be fixed or variable rate. The fixed rate plan minimum deposit is $2,000, whereas the variable rate plan minimum deposit is $40. Eligibility is open to individuals under the age of 70 ½ who earned salaries or wages. Distribution can be made at 59 ½ without penalty. Click here for current rates.

ROTH IRA
The Roth IRA is a non-tax deferred account that features tax free withdrawals on all personal contributions at any time. If you meet certain requirements, including a five year holding period, all earnings are also tax free when you or your beneficiary make withdrawals. Remember that with a Roth IRA you are not required to take a minimum distribution at age 70 1/2 unlike a Traditional IRA. Furthermore, since Roth IRA contributions are taxed in the year they are earned, people who expect to be in a higher tax bracket when they retire may benefit more from these accounts than from a Traditional IRA. Please contact your tax advisor for specific information to determine your eligibility for a Traditional or Roth IRA contribution or withdrawal.

This plan is on a 24 month maturity and can be fixed or variable rate. The fixed rate plan minimum deposit is $2,000, whereas the variable rate plan minimum deposit is $40. Eligibility is open to individuals under the age of 70 ½ who earned salaries or wages. Distribution can be made at 59 ½ without penalty.

* Certain restrictions and contribution limits apply. Consult a tax advisor regarding eligibility.
