Citizens National Bank Announces The Appointment Of Ron Absher, Steve Merrick And Larry VanHook To Their Board Of Directors

The Directors of Citizens National Bank announce the appointment of Ron Absher, Steve Merrick and Larry VanHook to their Board of Directors.

Ron Absher, president and owner of B & B Resources, Inc. graduated from Eubank High School and Western Kentucky University with a BS in Civil Engineering. He is president of OK-KY Gathering, Inc. and sole member of Clifty Properties, LLC. Ron is a deacon at Southside Church of Christ. Ron and his wife, Matalene have two sons, Darron & Jonathan, and they are members of Southside Church of Christ.

Steve Merrick, president of Somerset Hardwood Flooring and Kentucky Hardwood Lumber is a graduate of Pulaski County High School and the University of Kentucky. He is a member of the Kentucky Forest Industries Association, National Hardwood Lumber Association, National Wood Flooring Association and past president of the Lake Cumberland Cal Ripken Baseball League. Steve and his wife, Kimm have two children, Stephanie & Cameron, and they are members of Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Larry VanHook, Agency Manager of Kentucky Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company is a graduate of Somerset High School and Eastern Kentucky University where he received his BBA. He is a member of the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce and First United Methodist Church. Larry and his wife, Linda have two children, Susan VanHook and John (and Lory) VanHook , and a granddaughter Madison.

Citizens National Bank has been locally owned since 1977 by Somerset businessmen who formed Citizens Bancshares Inc. The current board of directors is: Cy Waddle, Odell Merrick, Clay Parker Davis, Harris Rakestraw III, William J. Wilson, Charles Hembree, Robert S. Harris, Donald E. Bloomer and Harold Rogers, Director Emeritus.
